CURRICULUM VITAE

Marc Schätzle studied dentistry at the University Bern and received his postgraduate Orthodontic at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. During his graduate program he was collaborating with the Department of Periodontology and Fixed Prosthodontics, University of Bern (Prof. H. Löe & Prof. N. P. Lang) and was performing epidemiological analyses on the natural history of periodontal disease. Based on those results he received 2005 an Odontolgiae doctorat-Diploma (PhD-equivalent) from the Malmö University, Sweden. After he focused on a second research field of interest: skeletal anchorage. Since 2007 Dr. Schätzle works in his private clinic and as a senior lecturer, he is responsible for clinical teaching and research projects of the postgraduate students of the Clinic of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry. In 2009 he spent 6 months at the University of Hong Kong (Prof. U. Hägg, Prof. A.B.R. Rabie) as a Visiting Associate Professor. In 2010 he successfully passed the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh examination in Orthodontics and received the Private Docent (PD) in the field of Orthodontics from the Medical Faculty of the University of Zurich in 2011. In 2012 he was appointed as Honorary Associate Professor at the Department of Orthodontics, at The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR China. The Titularprofessorship was awarded to Marc Schätzle in 2018 by the University of Zurich, Switzerland.
